Temptation of Jesus

--Isaiah--

For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings. (7:16)

--Matthew--

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. (4:1)

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered. (4:2)

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (4:3)

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (4:4)

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, (4:5)

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. (4:6)

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (4:7)

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; (4:8)

And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. (4:9)

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (4:10)

Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. (4:11)

And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. (1:12)

And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. (1:13)

And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, (4:1)

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (4:8)

And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: (4:9)

For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: (4:10)

And in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. (4:11)

And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (4:12)

And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. (4:13)

Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. (22:28)

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. (14:30)

--Hebrews--

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin. (4:15)
